SANKYU INC. · Year ended March 2026
How SANKYU prepares for a plant’s planned shutdown
SANKYU transports raw materials and products and builds and maintains production equipment for customers in industries including steel, oil and chemicals. Inside customers’ plants, it also moves goods, takes on parts of the manufacturing process, and inspects and repairs equipment.

Connect inspections while running with repairs during the stop
Inspect a running plant, prepare its maintenance stop
SANKYU describes a link between daily maintenance and planned shutdown work. It also moves materials and products inside customers’ plants.
Operating: move goods and inspect equipment
Workers use their senses and inspection instruments to check daily for abnormal conditions and deterioration.
Planned stop: maintain the equipment
The shutdown is scheduled in advance so equipment and components can be inspected and maintained.
Daily findings → shutdown maintenance
Shutdown findings → the next daily checks
A schematic of the relationship, not an equipment layout or maintenance procedure. Contracted work varies by customer and project. Planned shutdowns do not establish that failures are eliminated.

Similar sales, different amounts of profit
Operating profit in the two main businesses
Segment profit (operating profit), year ended March 2026, in millions of yen. Both bars use the same zero-based scale.

Engineering sales rose, but less maintenance weighed on profit

THE VIEW AFTER THE NUMBERS
What the numbers suggest
SANKYU’s maintenance work links knowledge of equipment while it is running with servicing during a planned stop. Inside customers’ factories, it also moves raw materials and products and supports manufacturing processes.
Engineering generated ¥30.960bn of operating profit in the year ended March 2026, but profit fell as daily work and shutdown-maintenance volumes declined, among other factors. Knowing the plant over time, and earning a profit from the year’s work volumes, prices and costs, are connected tasks. Together they reveal a company supporting factories both while they run and when they stop.
