Nabtesco Corporation · Year ended December 2025

From robot joints to automatic doors: the motion inside Nabtesco’s ¥307.9 billion.

Nabtesco products are often hidden inside something larger: industrial-robot joints, rail brakes and doors, aircraft flight-control systems, building automatic doors, ship-engine controls and food-packaging machines. FY2025 revenue was ¥307.9 billion. Nabtesco estimates a roughly 60% global share in precision reduction gears for medium- and large-sized industrial-robot joints and roughly 60% of Japan's building automatic-door market. The products look unrelated until they are viewed as one problem: transmitting, stopping and controlling motion.

Nabtesco is not a brand name most people see every day.

Its products, however, move constantly.

Inside the places where motion is controlled

Revenue is ¥307.9 billion

The business is split across four segments.

Segment names still do not make the company intuitive.

The products do.

About 60% of industrial-robot joint reduction gears

The next set of motion is on rail.

About 50% of rail brakes and 60% of rail doors in Japan

The same pattern reaches aircraft.

About 100% on domestically produced aircraft

In buildings, the motion is familiar but the maker is less visible.

About 60% of building automatic doors in Japan

The company also moves large ships.

About 40% globally in two-stroke main-engine control

Food factories add another type of precise movement.

About 85% of Japan’s retort-food packaging machines

Why are all these businesses in one company?

The answer lies in two separate lineages.

One lineage began with railway air brakes in 1925

The other lineage came through aircraft and precision machinery.

Teijin Seiki and NABCO came together in 2003

Robots, trains, aircraft, automatic doors, ships and packaging machines look like separate markets.

But Nabtesco repeatedly occupies the same place inside them:

where motion has to be transmitted, stopped or controlled precisely.

THE VIEW AFTER THE NUMBERS

What the numbers suggest

Nabtesco generated ¥307.9 billion in revenue and ¥20.7 billion in operating profit in FY2025.

Revenue was spread across Accessibility Solutions at ¥110.7 billion, Transport Solutions at ¥100.5 billion, Component Solutions at ¥79.3 billion and Manufacturing Solutions at ¥17.4 billion.

Company-estimated market shares include roughly 60% globally for precision reduction gears in medium- and large-sized industrial-robot joints, about 50% of Japan’s rail brakes, about 60% of rail door systems, about 100% of flight-control actuation systems for domestically produced aircraft, about 60% of building automatic doors in Japan and about 85% of domestic retort-food packaging machines.

The combination has historical roots. NABCO came from railway brakes and automatic doors; Teijin Seiki carried aircraft and precision-machinery lineages. They came together in Nabtesco in 2003.

Nabtesco is therefore less a visible finished-product brand than a company embedded in motion itself, accumulating high shares in specialized places where machines, vehicles and buildings have to move precisely.

Higher-performance chips demand more from their tests. Inside Advantest’s demand split.

Advantest’s FY2025 combines stronger demand for advanced-chip tests, expanded supply capability and an improved product mix. Mature-chip tester demand remained soft. Support for installed equipment and consumables such as interface boards form another part of the work. Sales of ¥1.1286tn, operating income of ¥499.1bn and a 44.2% margin describe the outcome of that particular year.
