From robot joints to automatic doors: the motion inside Nabtesco’s ¥307.9 billion.
Nabtesco generated ¥307.9bn of revenue and ¥20.7bn of operating profit in FY2025. Accessibility Solutions was the largest segment at ¥110.7bn, followed by Transport Solutions at ¥100.5bn, Component Solutions at ¥79.3bn and Manufacturing Solutions at ¥17.4bn. Company estimates put its share at about 60% globally for precision reduction gears used in medium- and large-sized industrial-robot joints, about 50% domestically for rail brake systems, about 60% for rail door systems, about 100% for flight-control actuation systems on domestically produced aircraft, about 60% for building automatic doors in Japan and about 85% for retort-food packaging machines in Japan. The current company was formed in 2003 by integrating NABCO, whose roots were in railway air brakes, with Teijin Seiki, which developed aircraft and precision-machinery businesses. Nabtesco is less a visible finished-product brand than a company embedded in motion itself.
