JES maintains elevators across manufacturers

Japan Elevator Service (JES) is an independent company that inspects and repairs elevators and escalators in buildings such as offices and apartment blocks. It provides building managers and owners with maintenance for major Japanese manufacturers’ models and modernization of aging equipment.

Two technicians discuss a disconnected pulley assembly on a workbench beside a closed elevator, with spare mechanical parts on a shelf behind them.

Bring parts and skills to the building

A building manager or owner engages JES for maintenance. Parts supply and training for different models support the technician at the site.

The technician inspects and repairs the model and reports the findings to the building manager or owner.

Recovered parts are reconditioned. Certified parts that pass quality-control tests are stocked and supplied to sites, alongside genuine parts.

Modernization replaces major equipment such as the control panel and the traction machine that moves the car. JES identifies manufacturers discontinuing parts supplies as one source of demand, and says modernization projects are also a promising route into maintenance contracts (presentation, pp.8,31).

THE VIEW AFTER THE NUMBERS

What the numbers suggest

JES takes responsibility for elevators made by different manufacturers, supplying the parts and technicians each model needs. Repairing recovered components and running training facilities are part of that preparation.

Both maintenance and modernization sales grew in the year ended March 2026. Available parts and people who can use them underpin a building owner’s choice of maintenance provider. Behind more than 120,000 contracted units is the work of sustaining that service network across the country.
