Fujikura Ltd. · Fiscal year ended March 2025
13,824 fibers in a constrained duct. Follow Fujikura’s cable installation.
More data-center connections must fit into ducts whose number and diameter are limited. Fujikura’s July 2025 cable announcement put 13,824 fibers, twice its previous maximum, inside a diameter of 40 mm or less. Those fibers also need to be connected at the other end. Follow that installation task while keeping the post-year-end example separate from Telecommunications revenue of ¥451.3 billion in the year ended March 2025.

Growing traffic does not necessarily come with more space underground.
Fujikura’s July 2025 release identifies limits on the number and internal diameter of ducts. First fit the cable, then connect its fibers. Following the installation makes the company’s work tangible.
This product announcement came after the financial period examined here, the year ended March 2025.

Fit the cable: read fiber count with diameter
The number doubled is fiber count. That does not establish a doubling of usable network performance or revenue.
At the end of the cable, connections need space and work
Making the cable compact is only part of installation. Its fibers must be separated, reached by workers and connected. That is why the cable and termination components belong in the same account.

Telecommunications is now Fujikura's largest business
FY2024 revenue composition reported in the 2025 integrated report.
Telecommunications is the largest business, but its share is 46%. One data-center product should not stand in for the group’s Electronics, Automotive, Power Systems and other businesses.
Place an overseas installation beside two different ratios
More than three quarters of sales are overseas
FY2024 overseas sales ratio.
Overseas sales of 77% and overseas employees of 90% measure different things. The installation example sits alongside that international footprint; one customer delivery does not explain the ratios.
Making the line and connecting it
THE VIEW AFTER THE NUMBERS
What the numbers suggest
Fit the fibers into constrained space, then connect them. Following installation reveals why cable density and connection work need to be read together.
The 13,824-fiber cable with an outside diameter of 40 mm or less, announced in July 2025, is a concrete example. In the earlier year ended March 2025, Telecommunications generated ¥451.3 billion, or 46% of group revenue.
Fiber count, annual results and overseas ratios describe different scopes. Keeping them separate makes both the installation problem and the wider company visible.
