What emerges

Yamaha Motor generated ¥2.5342tn of revenue and ¥126.4bn of operating profit in FY2025. Land Mobility produced ¥1.6151tn, about 63.7% of group revenue by site calculation, so motorcycles and related mobility remain the economic center. Marine generated ¥527.6bn, Robotics ¥111.5bn and Financial Services ¥114.0bn. Yamaha's first outboard motor, the P-7 launched in 1960, was developed under a requirement to share parts with the YA1 motorcycle. Industrial robots began as tools for Yamaha's own increasingly diverse production lines before commercial sales started in 1976. In FY2025, demand grew for semiconductor back-end equipment used in generative-AI applications and advanced packaging. Diversification has not made every branch profitable: Outdoor Land Vehicle recorded a ¥39.8bn operating loss. Yamaha Motor did not leave motorcycles behind; it branched motorcycle-era engineering and manufacturing capabilities into the sea, the factory floor and finance.
