What emerges

Terumo generated ¥1.1319tn of revenue and ¥176.3bn of operating profit in FY2025. Cardiac and Vascular generated ¥676.4bn, Blood and Cell Technologies ¥231.0bn, and Medical Care Solutions ¥216.1bn. Terumo was founded in 1921 to manufacture reliable clinical thermometers in Japan. In the 1960s it introduced Japan's first single-use syringe, followed by a dialyzer in 1977, the world's first microporous hollow-fiber membrane oxygenator in 1982, and an angiographic catheter system in 1985. The company did not simply abandon thermometers and become something unrelated. It kept solving new clinical problems, moving from measuring to injecting, navigating vessels and supporting circulation.
