Asahi Kasei generated ¥3.0745tn of net sales and ¥231.2bn of operating income in FY2025. The group now operates in three sectors: Material, Homes and Healthcare. It was founded in 1922, commercialized ammonia synthesis in 1923 and began rayon production in 1924. It entered building materials in 1967, electronics in 1971 and artificial kidneys in 1974. Today Asahi Kasei still organizes shared capabilities around membrane separation, fibers and polymers, electrochemistry, biotechnology, compound semiconductors and chemical-process technologies. It did not leave chemistry behind; it repeatedly moved chemistry-based materials and process technologies into new parts of everyday life.
