ORIX did not simply leave leasing behind. It extended the finance-and-asset expertise learned in leasing into autos, real estate, airports, energy, insurance, private equity and asset management. The current form of that model is capital recycling. In FY2026 ORIX recorded ¥265.2 billion of capital gains, ¥1.1 trillion of cash in and ¥800 billion of cash out. It looks less like a company that sells one thing and more like one that combines finance, operations and investment to keep reallocating capital.
